Abseiling Day at the Derngate Theatre !

Mark Dean
Update @ 10.40am 29th August, It's today at about 1pm (ish)

Mark Dean Says,

" As you know each and every year, i always go out on a limb ,well, to do some form of work for a charity, and here I'm about to embark on my second or third biggest challenge in so many years.
Last year, as you know i did Dancers In Need, and came a respectable second, and have the trophy to prove it, and the aches and pains, scars, blood sweat and tears.

This year i have decided to take on something else, i have to take on some abseiling. Well 'The Royal and Derngate's' challenge is 'One Twenty Five', it's called. And it's a fund raising campaign, and it's taking place on Saturday 29th August 2009.

Now members of the public will have the opportunity to join the theatre staff in abseiling down the water tower of 'The Derngate' auditorium.

Now 'The Theatre Royal is celebrating it's 125th anniversary, and they want to raise £125,000 for funds for future artistic programmes. All money raised during this event will go back to the work they're doing.

" Let me tell you, i don't even go up the ladder to dust down the paint work in the house, i don't even do that!, LOL , I'm absolutely terrifield of heights , but for a charity i will do this .

The Royal and Derngate have put some tremendous events that i have been to over the last three years .

They are looking at investing in the young people, and obviously putting money back into the future artistic programme, and that's why I'm doing it.

pictures will be on the website afterwards, LOL.

If you too would like to do this event, contact Janet Gordon on Northampton 01604 655733 or email
janet.gordon@royalderngate.co.uk , forms can also be picked up from the theatre box office. "
