Get ready for The Royal Frock Exchange

The ladies of Northampton are being asked to hunt through their wardrobes in readiness for a fun and fashionable event taking place early in the New Year. The Royal Frock Exchange – inspired by the BBC TV Frock Swap programme – takes place on Saturday 9 January at Royal & Derngate, raising money for the theatre's Challenge 125 appeal.

A great alternative to the January sales, The Royal Frock Exchange offers the chance to revitalise your wardrobe at the same time as passing on some choice items you no longer wear. Guests are asked to bring along at least one clean, quality item of clothing – or an accessory – that they would be proud to hand on, and then get swapping. Look out for vintage clothing and hidden gems!

There'll be some design-savvy advisers on hand to help with fashion choices and the opportunity to get chosen items altered or customised for a small fee.

The ticket price of £10 includes a glass of fizz and some delicious cup cakes, and while the clothes are being sorted ready for the swapping to start, there will be the to browse a selection of stalls selling high quality craft Made in Northampton by some of our finest designers and craftspeople. There will also be an auction of items donated by actresses and by some of Northampton's designer shops, and a raffle to win a fabulous piece of costume jewellery.

Ideal for the environmentally-conscious clothes-lover who doesn't want to be dressed in the same high street fashions as everyone else, The Royal Frock Exchange invites the women of Northamptonshire to bring along their friends and any presentable clothes lurking unloved at the back of the wardrobe just waiting for a good home, and help raise money to go towards making new exciting work for the Royal stage as it celebrates its 125th anniversary.

The Royal Frock Exchange will take place at Royal & Derngate on Saturday 9 January, from 3pm until 5.30pm. Tickets, including a glass of fizz and cupcake, cost £10 and can be booked by calling the Box Office on 01604 624811 or online at http://www.royalandderngate.co.uk

Simply bring along the items you want to swap on the day. Tokens will be issued to each participant reflecting the number of items they have contributed into the Exchange.
