From Saturday April 21st 2012 , The Core at Corby Cube will be hosting family fun days for children and their parents, offering children's theatre and cinema, make and do workshop and craft activities.

There will be further "Fun Days" 12th May 2012, and 16th June 2012.

Visitors to the first event on the 21st April 2012 can expect an out of this world experience , as the theme for this day is space. Commencing with Muttnic: 'The First Dog In Space', which is suitable for all children from 3 years upwards. It's an exiting take on a true story of  laika , a dog sent to space aboard a Russian Sputnik 2 Rocket.

The 'Make and Do' workshop is a musical journey into space , with lots of singing and musical instrument playing, and children can make their own space rockets in the 'Craft Corner' .

The Muppets

The Muppets film will be shown in the main theatre at 10.30am , the film features all the fuzzy creatures, The Muppets, reunited to save their theatre from a greedy oil tycoon.

Family activities start from 10am, with 45 minute 'Make and Do' workshops start at 10am, 12.00 noon and 1pm , with drop in crafts sessions throughout the day until 3pm , giving children and grown ups and chance to take part in activities before and after they see a show or a film.

The Cores coffee shop will be open for teas, coffees, soft drinks and cakes. The workshops are run by experienced early years practitioners and are all about exploration , creativity and having fun together.

The workshops and craft activities are free of charge, and there is no need to book for these, but booking is recommended  for the shows and the film.

'Muttnic: The First Dog In Space' is on stage at 11am and 2pm, and ticket prices for Muttnic are £5.50 each.

The Muppets film can be seen at 10.30am , and ticket prices  for adults are £6.50 , £4.50 concessions, and £20 family ticket.
