Billing Aquadrome has been evacuated by the Environment Agency (EA) this morning (November 22) because of a risk of flooding.
The Borough Council is supporting the EA and the other agencies involved in the evacuation and our Housing Team is working at the rest and evacuation centres to deal with vulnerable people who need assistance.
Overnight, Lings Forum will once again be used as a rest centre for people evacuated from Billing. Overnight, Lings Forum will once again be used as a rest centre for people evacuated from Billing. This will mean that the main hall and squash courts will be closed to the public from 4pm today. They are likely to remain closed tomorrow. The gym, swimming pool and Forum Cinema will remain open and fitness classes are running as usual.

Some areas of the county have been affected by flooding this week.
A number of residents in Northampton are currently being evacuated as a precautionary measure due to the flood risk.
This response is being co-ordinated by the Environment Agency working alongside our Emergency Planning team and we are in direct communication with all those affected.

If the fault is categorised as an emergency, Northamptonshire County Council telephone number will be displayed so that you can call instead. This enables us to prioritise the most dangerous hazards in the county.
Protecting your property / Sandbags
Generally it is the responsibility of the property owner to protect their own property. Some borough or district councils may provide sandbags to aid with this.

All the facilities including the main hall and squash courts have re-opened and classes are running as normal.
