What is diabetes?

Diabetes is an incurable condition in which the body cannot control blood sugar levels, because of problems with the hormone insulin. There are two main variations of the illness, Type I and Type II.

  1. The main symptoms of undiagnosed diabetes include:
    • passing urine more often than usual, especially at night.
    • increased thirst.
    • extreme tiredness.
    • unexplained weight loss.
    • genital itching or regular episodes of thrush.
    • slow healing of cuts and wounds.
    • blurred vision.

Northampton Carnival Update





      Carnival has a new route and starts in Park Avenue South, on to Christchurch Road , on to Wellingborough Road, on to York Road, to Giles Street, to Abington Street , along Kettering Road, to Ashington  Avenue, turning into Clarke Road, turning left at Russholme Road, and back to Christchurch Road  and return to Abington Park.


Road Closures in place on day,
 so park early to avoid parking 
delays for this event!

The theme for this years Carnival is “A Storybook Carnival”.

National Blood Week 8th-14th June 2015




 In advance of National Blood Week (8-14 June 2015), NHS Blood and Transplant has revealed that 40% fewer new volunteers came forward across England and North Wales to give blood last year compared to a decade ago.

Northampton Carnival 2015 Abington Park Northampton





This Saturday,6th June 2015, Northampton Carnival have a free workshop at Weston Favell Shopping Centre,Wellingborough Road, Northampton NN3 8JZ.


 The workshop will be led byJudith & David Brown from Utopia Mas carnival artistes, people can gain inspiration and last minute advice on their costume, headpiece, or float decoration from 10am - 4pm all welcome..
