Cervical Cancer Vaccine For Year 8 Girls


The new vaccine to protect girls and young women against the most common cause of cervical cancers.


In September 2008 the first vaccinations of school girls in year eight began in England.

The first full course of three injections have now been completed in England .

Each September year 8 girls will start their programme.

programme costing up to £100 million a year.

There will also be a two-year "catch-up" campaign starting in autumn 2009 for girls aged up to 18, costing up to £200 million a year.
