NORTHAMPTON UK CARNIVAL

THERE’S NO STOPPING THE CARN-I-VAL!

The County’s largest Street Festival IS to go ahead, and returns to the streets of Northampton on Saturday 13 June. Now in its 5th year, the organisers are busy planning what looks to be the biggest and best yet!

Despite funding cuts the show will go on! The town has seen the demise of the Northampton Town Show, the Fire Works Display and the Balloon Festival. Whilst we recognise the current climate is difficult for everyone, we feel it’s even more important than ever to provide an event that the whole community can get involved in. The theme this year is ‘The Sole of the People’ which couldn’t be more apt and can be interpreted in so many creative ways to design your float or costumes

The free family fun day kicks off at Delapre Park at 12noon with numerous stalls, including a variety of food, ethnic art, story telling, face painting, exciting funfair attractions and live entertainment on the main stage to enjoy, before the parade leaves the park at 2.00pm with over 40 floats and troupes in magnificent costumes taking the route…

Left on to London Road – Cotton End – Bridge Street – Mercers Row – Abington Street – St Giles Terrace – St Giles Street – Guildhall Road – St John’s Street – Victoria Gardens – (Victoria Promenade) – Cattlemarket Road – Bridge Street – Cotton End – London Road – Delapre Park Approx finish 4-4.30pm.

On return to the park the winners of the Best Designed Float, Troupe and Costumes will be announced, followed by an array of local established and up and coming artists showcasing their talent until 7.30pm, including the Royal & Derngate Community Choir who will be performing some inspirational songs, adding a touch of Gospel and Soul to the festivities.

Come out and support the Carnival, which brings the communities, cultures, and traditions of Northampton together.

Park activities for all the family including trade stands, food outlets, funfair, bouncy castles, quad bikes, skate park provided by YMCA, lots of craft to look at, library, ice cream, drinks bar.
