Royal & Derngate invites audiences to a music festival that will celebrate some of
the finest talent from around the county, on Friday 30 April. Taking place in
the theatre’s Underground performance area, Folk, Blues and Beyond…
features a wonderful variety of music from a host of different bands.
The Blisworth Tunnel Rats introduce a touch of American Time Music,
Aggie Demetri and Friends bring a taste of Greek Gypsy style music,
while the Rag ‘n’ Roll Band play a mix of ‘20s ragtime and ‘50s rock.
The line up also includes young singer/songwriter Corinne Lucy,
folk singer Duncan Whittaker (the theatre’s own master carpenter,
aka the Towcester Troubadour),
Craig Papworth, Gareth Warren and Daniella Bove, Linda Watkins and Mike Moyse, T
he Cellar Boys
and guitarist Udo Dolz. MC for the evening will be David Perkins.
The festival is one of a number fundraising events supporting the Challenge 125 campaign
which is raising money in the theatre’s 125th anniversary year.
All the money raised during the campaign
will go directly back into the work produced for the Royal stage,
developing the ambition and range of the work produced there.
Folk, Blues and Beyond… takes over Royal & Derngate’s Underground on
Friday 30 April from 7.15pm,
with an evening of eclectic, heart-warming and inspiring music at its best.
