Over the coming months Royal & Derngate is turning its focus on Northampton with its Hometown season,
inviting the residents of the town to look at their surroundings with fresh eyes.

As part of this exciting programme of shows, events and activities,
the theatre is launching a major photography project Snapshots Of Our Town.

Snapshots Of Our Town is a digital photography competition that aims to bring together
a mixture of images from Northampton, its rolling countryside, town centre, varied architecture, people and parks.

Open to all, from Duston to Briar Hill, Abington to Spring Boroughs, the young, the old and all of the
rich and varied cultures that make the town so special, this an opportunity to let others see Northampton from your point of view.

The best of these images will be blown up to a metre high and presented as part of a giant wall of colour in
Royal & Derngate’s foyer, a display that will last the for the duration of the Hometown season.
The winning photographers will be invited to a special opening event at Royal & Derngate,
and in addition will also receive two tickets for each of the shows in the theatre’s Hometown season.

The images should focus on Northampton or its surrounding villages and countryside,
and the categories for entry are Unusual Beauty, The Familiar Points of View, The People and Hidden Hampton.

There is no limit to how many photographs you can enter, but all images need to be high resolution
(using a digital camera of at least eight mega-pixels)
and supplied as a JPEG file.
Images can either be sent on a CD to:
