Talk Cinema-Forum Cinema Film Appreciation Course


Thu 12 May – Thu 16 June
£40/£35 concs

This 6-week course will enable you to develop your appreciation of film and allow you to discuss with like-minded people the films screened at the Forum. Alternating between bi-weekly films from the cinema programme and in-depth tutorials, you don’t have to be a specialist to join – just someone with an interest in cinema, a desire to develop it and a readiness to join in and discuss.

Northampton Borough Council sets up a Leisure Trust to run Leisure Centres, Sports & Play Development and Forum Cinema

As from 1st April Mounts Baths, Lings Forum Leisure Centre, Danes Camp Leisure Centre, Northampton Sports and Play Development and the Forum Cinema will become a not for profit charitable trust.

Charlie Chaplin: The Mutuals 
Sun 17 April 7.30pm

Between 1916 and 1917, Charlie Chaplin produced a magnificent series of twelve short films with the Mutual Film Company. Now restored and re-mastered, each film has its own unique character and atmosphere which is reflected in a set of original scores written by celebrated British composer and conductor Carl Davis
Presented for the first time here, this special concert features three of the finest Mutual films -The Pawn Shop, The Immigrant and The Cure- shown on a big screen and performed live byCarl Davis and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.
