County Council and European Parliament Elections

This year elections will take place for the County Council and the European Parliament on Thursday 4th June. People registered to vote should have already received their official poll card in the post, and this will tell you where your polling station is located. If you are voting in person, you can vote at your polling station between the hours of 7:00am and 10:00pm on Thursday 4th June 2009 where you will be presented with two ballot papers: one for the county council Elections; and one for the European Parliamentary Elections.

On your ballot papers you will be asked to mark a cross (X) in the box to the right of the name of the candidate or party you wish to vote for. You should not make any other mark on your paper, or your vote may not be counted.

If you wish to appoint a proxy your application must be received by the Electoral Registration Officer before 5pm on Wednesday 27 May. If you need further assistance you can telephone the helpline on 01604 837111.
