This week, the spotlight is on National Consumer Week where the message ‘cold calling – don’t buy it’ is being promoted by Trading Standards.
The campaign is aimed at closing the door on rogue traders to end the heartache and financial loss that can be caused by unscrupulous cold callers, who often target the elderly and vulnerable. Our simple message is "If you’re not sure, don’t open the door".
As part of the campaign, we are encouraging householders to display a ‘No Cold Calling’ sticker in their front door or window. It tells cold calling doorstep traders to go away and reminds the householder to telephone the dedicated Doorstep crime Action Network (DAN) hotline on
0345 23 07 702 to report them to Trading Standards and the Police.
To obtain a No Cold Calling sticker, please email tradestd@northamptonshire.gov.uk.
How to buy with confidence
