Cinderella at the Royal & Derngate until January 6th 2013

Family entertainment with plenty of gags, double entendre only the
parents would understand, unless your child is an adult!

Cinderella is probably the best known pantomime's of them all, as it has romance, infatuation, and comedy, plenty of well choreographed dance routines and two of the ugliest sisters you could ever imagine, and story lines updated to reflect current affairs, to keep the jokes funny and fresh.

A colourful set with a cast to match, and locally sourced talent from a well established theatre company in Northampton, 'Mayhew School of Dancing', this company has for over 60 years been training Northamptonshire's talented young people, as i recall my own sister attended too, bless her, Sharon, your confirmation is needed here my darling!

Bobby Davro had the audience in stitches as Buttons in this classic fairy tale. Under the weather Davro, was suffering the flu, and Davro's understudy still had his feet up, and the flu didn't hinder Davro's  ability to entertain a packed auditorium at the Derngate theatre Northampton  on Thursday 19th December 2012.

Davro's chocolate song routine was very clever and funny, as Davro has returned to the Derngate Theatre in Northampton by public demand, a very talented man.

Bobby Davro doing his impression
of a present time  member of our Royal family!

'Yummy Mummy', Denise Welch, not only a Loose Women star, but has also appeared on the Benidorm TV show, Coronation Street, Waterloo Road, to name but a few shows she has appeared in, was the fairy godmother in this production of Cinderella, a brilliant actress is her own right waving her wand on proceedings and making a two hour show time simply go just like that!

Danielle York's portrayal of Cinderella was top class. Danielle is at the beginning of her acting career, her vocal singing is phenomenal.

This pantomime runs until January 6th 2013, It's family entertainment, and will make your Christmas this year. Jerry Wright, Inspiration FM Community Radio for Northampton UK.

The 24 x 14 metre covered ice rink, which is being brought to Northampton by John Thurston Funfairs, is suitable for people of all ages.  It will be stewarded and open weekdays 12 noon to 8pm and weekends and school holidays from 10.30am to 8pm.  Hour-long sessions, which include 50 minutes skating time, cost £7.50 per person or £25 for a family of four.

Councillor Brandon Eldred, Northampton Borough Council cabinet member responsible for events, said:

“There’s something for everybody to enjoy in Northampton this Christmas.  We have had ice rinks before and they have always been very popular, particularly with young people and families.  I hope bringing the ice rink to town adds to the magic of Christmas in Northampton.  It should be a lot of fun.”

Skating is suitable for all, but children under 14 should be supervised by an adult.  Ice skates will be provided and there is no need to book in advance, just turn up.
