Royal & Derngate’s Programmer Steve Scrivens commented:
“We’re delighted that Cara is receiving the recognition she so rightly deserves and look forward to her performance here in Northampton. We’re striving to bring the best of the contemporary music scene to Royal & Derngate, including many artists who have been nominated for or have won prestigious music awards.”
Mercury Award nominees Seth Lakeman and Portico Quartet will both be performing at the Northampton venue in March and Radio 2 Folk Award nominees from 2008, The Imagined Village, received a rapturous reception at their recent gig, with a line up including the winner of last year’s Radio 2 Folk Award album of the year Chris Wood. And if anyone missed pianist Zoe Rahman (Mercury nominee 2006) when she was performed with Soothsayers in January, there’s another chance to hear her when she returns to Royal & Derngate with the Jerry Dammers AKA Spatial Orchestra in April.
