Jus' Like That!.. About the late Tommy Cooper, The Review.

Written by John Fisher
Directed By Patrick Ryecart

Clive Mantle
as
Tommy Cooper

Clive Mantle is probably more well known for his roles on Casualty, Holby City
and The Vicar of Dibley, but as soon as he dons the familiar red fez he becomes Tommy Cooper.

It's been 25 years since the late  great Tommy Cooper died on stage at Her Majesty's Theatre in London's West End.

Clive Mantle playing one of my all time favourite magicians, Tommy Cooper was a genius with comic timing with magic tricks While his stage persona required that his act (intentionally) went wrong for comic purposes, Cooper was a member of The Magic Circle, and respected by traditional magicians. Famed for his red fez, his appearance was large and lumbering at 6 feet 4 inches.

I remember , Cooper collapsing from a heart attack in front of millions of television viewers, midway through his act on the London Weekend Television variety show Live From Her Majesty's, transmitted live from Her Majesty's Theatre, no one believed in the audience that poor old Tommy had actually croaked, ironically this would have been part of his act.

Clive Mantle has mastered Tommy Cooper , this show is very funny, a real belly laugh, i could not stop laughing at the stupid jokes that Tommy used to tell between his magic tricks, one of the jokes for example....

"I Said To The Waiter......I said, 'This chicken I've got is cold.'

He said 'I should think so. It's been dead for two weeks'.
